News-Legislature-RecognizitionLinda Krueger, a dedicated VASIA volunteer from Johnson County, has been honored as the Indiana Volunteer Guardian of the Year for 2024. Her unwavering commitment to advocating for incapacitated adults has made a profound impact on our community.

On January 29, during the State of the Judiciary address, Chief Justice Loretta Rush highlighted Linda's inspiring journey. After assisting her mother through the challenges of dementia, Linda recognized the difficulties faced by those without family support and felt compelled to act. Her story exemplifies the compassion and dedication of our volunteers.

Linda's recognition by the state legislature underscores the vital role of volunteer advocates in providing stability, dignity, and hope to vulnerable adults.

"We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Linda for her well-deserved accolades and thank her for her exceptional service," said Lauren Rynerson, Executive Director of VASIA of Johnson and Shelby Counties.
