Guardians Help Make Decisions for Adults Who No Longer Can

Advocates such as Janis are the only people seniors or other adults have to help them. Johnson County Volunteer Advocates for Seniors and Incapacitated Adults is a public guardianship program that provides assistance for those in need of advocacy, helping them make decisions in order to be as independent as possible while still maintaining their health, comfort and safety.

The goal is to preserve the dignity of adults in the community, said Peter Jessen, board president for Johnson County VASIA.
