A Special Thank You to Our Judges and Community Partners

We were honored to have Judge Nugent and Judge Meltzer join us for this special occasion. They took the time to swear in our dedicated volunteers, including both long-time advocates and new members who have recently joined our mission. Their presence reinforced the vital role VASIA plays in protecting and serving vulnerable seniors and incapacitated adults in our community.

The VASIA Volunteer Oath: A Commitment to Advocacy

When volunteers join the Volunteer Advocates for Seniors and Incapacitated Adults (VASIA) program, they make a profound commitment to uphold the rights and well-being of those they serve. This commitment is formalized through an oath that represents the ethical standards and responsibilities expected of every VASIA volunteer.

  • Confidentiality: Volunteers pledge to respect and protect the privacy of the individuals they serve, ensuring that all personal and sensitive information remains confidential.
  • Advocacy: A promise to act in the best interests of the protected person, making decisions that prioritize their health, safety, and overall well-being.
  • Integrity: A commitment to uphold the highest standards of honesty and ethics in all interactions and decisions.
  • Respect: Recognizing and honoring the dignity and autonomy of each individual while striving to support their independence whenever possible.
  • Diligence: An agreement to remain vigilant and proactive in monitoring the needs of the protected person, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions when necessary.

By taking this oath, VASIA volunteers affirm their dedication to providing compassionate and ethical guardianship, ensuring that vulnerable adults receive the advocacy and care they deserve.

Community Partners Who Make a Difference

We are deeply grateful to Aspire Johnson County, the Franklin Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce for their ongoing support. Their partnership enables us to grow, connect, and provide life-changing advocacy for those who need it most.

Honoring Our Volunteers—The Heart of VASIA

Most importantly, we want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our incredible VASIA volunteers. Your dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment make a difference in the lives of seniors and incapacitated adults who rely on an advocate by their side.

Every volunteer who steps up ensures that those without family or resources are not alone in making critical life decisions. You are the voices, protectors, and champions for individuals who might otherwise be forgotten. Today, we celebrate you.
